Today, I am Grateful for CHOICE
It’s the number one lesson my dad taught me. You will always have a choice. Choice is something that can never be taken away from you. You have the choice on how you react to something. You have the choice about what path you take. You can choose who your friends are. You can even choose your mood if you really want to get down to it.
This year (and every year) I’m grateful for choice. It’s these choices I’m most grateful for today:
My team and the fact that they choose to work here. Tonya and Caity have been wonderful additions to the Brand Yourself family this year. Lindy took a little break to grow her family by one adorable little girl but is looking forward to some projects in the coming months. We have big plans and I’m looking forward to what 2019 has in store for us.
Hockey and the choice my kids make every day to play it. Not to mention the choice my hubby made to coach these young kids. Hockey has brought such great humans into my life. I’ve developed some pretty amazing friendships and will be forever grateful for the community that I can celebrate Addison’s goals with. (Easton is still learning to skate. At this point we celebrate our youngest making it through a practice without crying.)
My choice to learn how to meditate. I wouldn’t say I’m a master of meditation yet, but I am training to be a mediation teacher. Forcing myself to stop thinking (or at least attempt to create space in my brain) has offered clarity and direction for my busy mind. I’ve learned a lot about myself and have accepted the fact that I have really good intuition. It’s true. Ask around.
The choice my clients make to work with me and my team. I have some really, really, really, great clients and look forward to Mondays because of them.
The choice we made to move to Bluff Street. I knew it was going to be a great neighborhood, but I didn’t expect to form such strong friendships. I look forward to every opportunity we have to hang out with these people. Our first year in our new home has been one of the best years of our lives.
The choice we all have to believe in magic. The holiday season always brings it out in people, but I choose to believe in magic all year. The spark of a great idea. The ‘coincidental’ email. The spontaneous lunch and joyful laughter between friends. The sliver of sunshine after a long, dreary week. Answered prayers. All magical moments.
I suck at conclusions on blog posts. It’s hard to wrap this one up for everyone but I hope you take a moment to consider what you are grateful for. I try to practice gratitude every day, it is the easiest way to boost my mood. Enjoy the rest of 2018 and I hope everyone has a beautiful, abundant 2019.
