Social Media Size Guide | Facebook | Twitter | Google+ | LinkedIn

Maintaining a consistent brand, both online and off, is important. Correctly sized photos and images are essential for a great online presentation of your brand. With so many social media platforms available it is important to have the correct dimensions for all of your graphics. For the correct dimensions and tips – download the Social Media Cheat Sheet at the end of this post. Social media platforms are ever-changing but here are the most current sizing dimensions available today.

Facebook has a cover photo and profile picture to consider for your business page. Facebook also recommends dimensions for photos – the size below is the best size photo/image to create to consider Newsfeed placement. You can also brand some of the apps (not the ‘likes’ or ‘photos’ apps – but created custom apps can be branded to match your page).

Twitter has a background and header to brand. You can create an image to display once, or tile an image to repeat across the entire background of your profile. Keep in mind – the header image will have text over it containing your biography and other information so try not to keep it too busy. The header image also displays on a mobile device.

Google+ has a cover photo and profile picture also.

And finally, LinkedIn Company Pages. You have the opportunity on LinedIn to upload both a square logo or profile image and a horizontal one for logos that are NOT square (and in my experience, most logos do NOT fit in a square box). Keep your LinkedIn branding similar to all your other platforms, but remember, LinkedIn is the world’s largest professional platform so make sure to consider your audience when uploading images and graphics to this profile!

When starting to create your brand – make sure you are choosing graphics and photos that can be modified and resized. The worst thing businesses can do is stretch a logo or graphic to fit in a space where it doesn’t properly scale.
